On Good Friday, April 19, 2019, the parishioners from St Anthony’s of Padua, All Saints Anglican and Agassiz United Churches joined together in a service to remember the traditional path of the Cross as Jesus carried it. Participants gathered in the rain at All Saints at 10:00 AM with prayer and introductions by the Anglican and Catholic leaders. The procession walked slowly and solemnly to assigned Stations mapped out from All Saints to Saint Anthony’s. They stopped at each Station for readings, prayer and meditation. The concluding station was held in St Anthony’s church. Those who participated commented on the relevance of this enaction in today’s world.
Following the service, the parishioners of St Anthony’s served a very welcome lunch of hot soup and buns.
Thanks is extended to all who prepared and participated and to Anthea Lewis for her photographs
The Way of the 14 Stations of the Cross has become an annual event in Agassiz.
